Spazons, Ego, Ki

Super Kaizen describes one mathematical space-time structure, different from our own (our-universe). This structure emerges from pure theoretical truth as a grid of finite and discrete space-time units called spazons. About ten million years ago (our-universe Earth time) the equation called for these spazons to emerge from nothing and collectively form the universe. The SK universe is thus much younger than our-universe.

Each spazon is a collection of various scalar, vector, and tensor quantities that exchange information about these vector values to adjacent spazons. The spazons can be thought of as containing physical particles, but ultimately it's all just information. The truth of some object sitting in space is nothing more than numbers encoded in spazons. Movement is just the calculation and exchange of spazon data, i.e. particles

The core informational interpretation of a spazon is whether it contains null (nothing), an ego particle, or a ki particle. A single spazon can 'contain' only one of the three. The number of each particle is conserved in the universe: ego, ki, and null can swap between spazons, but not be created, destroyed, or changed into each other under normal circumstances. Each particle is essentially a tensor carrying with it many properties which can change such as momentum. The ki can come in four colors or kido.

Think of each ego (ego particle) as a mini-processor that can store a few bits of information. For an intelligent creature to exist, it has to store and process a lot of information though. This is possible because when ego are close together they undergo a linking known as ego entanglement grouping into a super-ego. Ego within super-ego can exchange state back and forth quickly acting as one unit. The strength of ego entanglement increases as the amount of ego increases. This also increases the effective state exchanges between ego, e.g. the processing ability. Eventually from this emerges complex behavior, sentience, sapience, and full consciousness. Super-ego can combine with single ego particles or other super-ego to grow, but this is restrained because ego naturally repel other ego. The repulsion between ego is called anxiety; it's not noticeable with single ego, but increases in strength the larger a super-ego becomes. A super-ego may join with other single ego particles, but will not easily merge with another super-ego.

The anxiety between ego also increases with decreasing distance making it hard for large super-ego to merge. They can combine temporarily such as with a fusion effect. The strong ego entanglement results in ego and ki returning to their super-ego association after the effect ends (some ki may end up shifting though). Similarly with fission where a super-ego is forced to split, when the fission effect ends the the ego entanglement will snap the components back together. Fusion and fission work at all because surrounded by ki, ego can be manipulated into coming closer together.
With ego the elements of life are present, but what about everything else? That's all made of ki. Ki is also the energy that drives skills. The GM may prefer in their timeline to call it magic, mana, psychic energy, etc.; it's all the same functionally. Some specialties like mages may prefer to call it magic while others like fighters call it ki. Ki (ki particles) do not attract, repel, or entangle on their own with each other so over time they spread out gradually unlike ego. This loose, unentangled ki is simply called free ki. Ki has a special relationship with ego though; ego attracts ki in a process known as gravity. The more ego, the more ki drawn to it.

Super-ego can entangle nearby ki (vital entanglement) keeping it close by and creating a ki barrier around the super-ego. The ki barrier can push other ki around or itself be shaped. With greater amounts of ego, the barrier begins to be manipulated by the super-ego in more complex ways. It can be differentiated into layers and the inner layers can bond to create physical structure around the super-ego. Each ego particle roughly entangles 1 ki particle, but since they are attracted in general, it's possible to have more by quickly toggling which nearby attracted ki is being entangled at a given time.

While ki particles normally have no attraction to themselves, they may occasionally bump into each other in such a way as to bond into fixed combinations called cells. This process is greatly catalyzed by the presence of ego which also prevents their natural decay back to free ki. These cellular entanglements bond two or more ki together and lock their kido. Each cell has a class based on the kido of the ki composing it. Simple two ki combinations are called elements. All other combinations are called categories. Cells combine to form structure which forms all matter. Cells may bond simply in inanimate objects such as crystals or metallic alloys. Or, they may combine complexly such as in ethos where the cells develop complex bonds allowing them to differentiate in capability extensively. Essentially in SK cells unify and simplify what would be separate atomic, molecular, and cellular scales in our-universe. The cells in ethos retain their layering from the ki barrier and differentiate into various internal systems such as skeletal, muscular, etc. Collectively these layers and cells form a ki body. The body contains the super-ego which acts as the mind or brain. The super-ego directs this body, the physical substance of the ethos. This is the key difference between life in our-universe and ethos - ethos are not chunks of meat but a duality of non-physical ego and physical ki. The ego injects a free will into the physical ki.

As the ethos grows, the outer ki barrier layers can be shaped into a protective field which helps to keep the ethos separate from the rest of the universe and protects it from disruption; mentioned previously, this is the HP field. With enough ego and ki, a secondary barrier can also form creating a realm around the ethos.
